Hi all,

At http://www.bartlett-family.net/sokhan I have a few links towards the top (4 of them, to be exact). They're the ones in the blue header area. When clicked, they produce a drop-down menu that is created by a very archaic javascript. First of all, the javascript ONLY works in IE (I know NOTHING about javascript, and if someone would help me get an identical version that works in all browser, that would be GREAT). Second of all, the drop-down menus appear directly below the links due to the <nobr> tags they are encased in. There are only 4 errors left in my attempt to get this site validated by W3C strict standards. The errors are, of course, due to the deprecated <nobr> tags. When I remove the tags, however, the drop-down menus do NOT appear directly below the links, but rather they appear of to the left side of the screen. I have tried replacing the <nobr> tags with white-space: nowrap in the CSS, but that has no effect. Any ideas? Is this a matter of the javascript being so old and outdated (and only being IE friendly)? Would someone be willing to re-write this javascript so that it does the exact same thing in all browsers? I know that's probably a lot to ask, but I simply don't know a thing about javascript. Please, I need some help here. Sorry if it's too much to ask. I'd appreciate it, everyone!

Chris

The javascript I mention can be found at http://www.bartlett-family.net/sokhan/wcd00074.js
You'll have to open it directly. I have found that if you try to save it, you will get a Runtime error.
I got this script from a friend who wrote it 3 years ago. He has since stopped programming and has no idea how to make it compliant for all of todays browser. Neither do I! I am OK at HTML, but I only do it as a hobby. Javascript is simply something I really don't feel like learning. That would be too much like work . If someone would be willing to re-write it for use in all of today's browsers, I cannot begin to express how thankful I'd be. I'm sure I could work something out with someone!
