DHTML Menus not working on IE 6.0.2800 SP1 & Windo

Dear All,
I have problem releveant to DHTML menuu (It is working fine on other platforms and browser versions)
in normal scenarios, DHTML drop down are working fine
upon clicking one of those links some file(.pdf) have to be download
upon completion of download, there is some problem

The links which dont have any drop down are working fine
the links which have some drop down are not working
even there is no drop down, these have been disabled

My working environment is as follows
IE 6.0.2800.1106 SP1
Windows 2000 Professional
