I have a complaint to make about DHTML Central Forums, people are not posting here and the place is slowly dying.

We need to organise getting more people here who post a lot. I left this place for a forum where people do nothing but post messages. This place is great and taught me some important things, plus Tim has a big head and is a great laugh.

I remember the times when I did not have a clue here and there were so many people willing to help and now there are only something like 13 people who still post here on a regular basis.

Come on people, lets make DC the forum it used to be! Help me send messages to inactive users here telling them that the forum is even better than ever in hope that we will get more people back here.

Any suggestions welcomed.

Bon Bon

Sorry to everyone here, I (despite living in the UK) am not good at speaking English, due to the fact that my Mum is deaf and I do not live or communicate with my Dad so I am much better at sign language than anything else and regard this as my first language.

It seems that there has been a slight misunderstanding in what I have been saying, " I have a complaint to make about DHTML Central Forums, people are not posting here and the place is slowly dying." basically means I would like to see more people posting here.

"I left this place for a forum where people do nothing but post messages," the other place has nothing to do with web design and plus this is where I started out. This place rocks and Thomas Bratta should be proud of it.

"Tim has a big head and is a great laugh," forget about the big head bit, thats nothing to do with DC at all and he is quite funny and has put a smile on my face (I do not know if you understand that better but I hope it helps).

"I remember the times when I did not have a clue here," okay I do not still know as much as the professionals here but I am learning.

Sorry to anyone offended, from now on I will try to be more clear about what I put and back up things a little better.

Bon Bon

dancedevils,

I'm pretty sure you are not being malicious and you mean well but sometimes things can come across in the wrong way. It's very easy for misunderstandings to happen in the context of the Internet. Anyway don't worry about it.

I did some research last year (October 29):

quote:
In the current forums there are a lot of members with less than 50 posts. A little investigation on October 29 2003 showed that there are 11554 members with less than 50 posts. From the total number of 11722 this makes a little 168 users with 50 posts or more. There are 1005 users who have visited the forums in the past 3 months.
Conclusion: 1.4% of the members have 50 posts or more. 8.6% of the members have visited in the last 3 months.

I expect these percantages to be lower today.

By the way, DC has been pretty busy last week

(guess what i'm still alive~!)
i guess we're all just waiting for DC2 or, we've split off into other things, like graphics, animations, engineering =)
or we all got a life that didn't include scripting.
i don't come here most of the times because hey i can't understand DHtml any more... not that i ever did (but at least i knew CM3 lol) i just hang out more in design forums, and found flash more intriguing and understandable =)
still love the people here though! - jools
